Ermis the main greek e-government, functining as an  umbrella portal, unifying more than 18,000 administrative units, 1,000 government-to-citizen and government-to-business services plus almost 4,000 public administration forms.

In a country notorious for its bureaucracy, ermis has the hard task of presenting ALL services available to the public in a unified database and provide automated transactions where possible.

Multiple gateways were created as part of the Information Architecture solution. Services were classified based on target audiences and/or a thematic thesaurus covering all facets of public & private life.

An alternative navigation of “life instances” was created, based on user-scenarios and personas’ analysis, were services are classified based on common needs in life: giving birth, going to school, finding work, etc.

Ermis was shortlisted as a finalist in the 2009 European e-government awards.
